I met up with Rachael at 6 am to beat the heat and get in a long run. We ran a new route within the Greenbrier loop today and navigated around this pretty lake. The scenery and the houses kept me distracted, and my have added to my slowness today! ha! This is the first long run I’ve done since I’ve started training for the Rock N Roll Half, and despite the slowness, I felt good the entire way. The humidity started to build up nearing our 3 mile mark, and we simultaneously managed to find a yard with sprinklers running…. I hope those people weren’t looking out their windows because they certainly would have seen two grown women running through their sprinklers like kids! 🙂 I honestly wish we had seen more sprinklers going because by the time we were closing in on mile 7 the sun had fully risen and the temperature was definitely increasing. As I’ve said many times before, I am grateful for those runners who “get it” and can get up super early with me to get a long run in. Thank you Rachael!
